Siri Makers Unveil AI Viv, 'The Global Brain': Artificial Intelligence May Redefine Retail Trend And Marketing

Apple's Siri co-creators, Dag Kittlaus and Adam Cheyer, introduced their newly designed virtual assistant AI Viv, dubbed "The Global Brain." Kittlaus and Cheyer's latest venture in artificial intelligence research proved a rewarding call as AI Viv impressed the public.

AI Viv goes beyond Siri's boundaries and performs various tasks that involve third-party exchange and transactions. While Apple's virtual assistant provided reliable in referencing information from the world wide web, users hoped to eventually see more.

Siri did set the pace for virtual assistance with Google, Microsoft, Amazon and Facebook hard at Apple's heels in releasing their own versions. Still, until AI Viv came into the picture, artificial intelligence applied to daily use remained within the boundaries that Siri defined.

According to The Verge, the 20-minute AI Viv demo at the TC Disrupt, NYC was flawless. AI Viv was tasked to buy goods, booking reservations, sending money, sending flowers along with other complex requests during the demo.

"The Global Brain" performed each one without a hitch. AI Viv is not dependent on phone calls and Google searches to be able to fulfil tasks.

Dag Kittlaus and Adam Cheyer partnered AI Viv with 50 companies to make this possible. Among the initial 50 companies are Uber and GrubHub.

Earlier reports say that Facebook and Google are among the companies trying to get dibs on AI Viv. However, AI Viv is far too powerful to be limited to the mobile platform.

Computerworld proposes that the emergence of the “The Global Brain” in AI Viv could redefine both retail trend and marketing. With assistance from artificial intelligence as AI Viv, buyers are able to do away with many of the more common challenges in the retail experience.
