An executive from Electronic Arts (EA) has expressed that the company is open to bringing games for the Nintendo NX. The new console is expected to go on sale by March 2017, but details about the device are still being kept under wraps.
Patrick Soderlund from EA said that they are in "constant communication" with Nintendo. "I personally and the company are huge fans of Nintendo, they're the reason why I started making games," Soderlund said per BBC. "If it makes sense for us - we'll be there," he added.
'Battlefield 1' Heading To Nintendo NX?
Fans of the console have been hoping that the NX will have plenty of third party options for games. If everything works out, one of the most wanted is "Battlefield 1," which is due for release in the PS4 and Xbox One this October. Express reports that "Battlefield 1" might be coming to Nintendo NX.
However, Video Gamer notes that there is actually little partnership between EA and Nintendo. When the latter launched Wii U several years ago, EA only developed a few games for the console. These included "FIFA 13" and "Need For Speed: Most Wanted." Game Rant reports that EA pulled out of the partnership because Wii U sales were staggering and developers weren't able to make a return on their investments.
Nintendo NX Won't Be At E3
Meanwhile, Nintendo has expressed that the Nintendo NX won't be making a presentation at the E3, which is the gaming industry's biggest event that's happening in June. Thus, it's harder for gamers to gauge on the viability of the upcoming console.
All the secrecy is fueling more speculations about the Nintendo NX, which has already been rumored to be more powerful than the PS4.5, but might come with gaming cartridges. The contradictions and assumptions should be addressed by Nintendo when it makes further announcements for the NX in late 2016.
