Women are more inclined to develop same-sex attraction than men. A new theory explains how sexual fluidity is more apparent in women who identify as heterosexuals. They are likely to experience arousal when shown pornographic materials that have girl-on-girl relations than heterosexual men who are shown porn featuring an all-male cast.
Dr. Satoshi Kanazawa explored the theory on women's same-sex attraction and sexual fluidity, which was published in Biological Reviews. The expert said his findings imply that women are more sexually evolved than men. Their orientations about sex are also different. "Rather than being straight or gay, to whom women are sexually attracted may depend largely on the particular partner, their reproductive status, and other circumstances," said Kanazawa via The Sun.
Dr. Satoshi Kanazawa further stipulated in his theory that women's sexual orientation evolved because of the pressures and conflict of being in a polygamous marriage, despite society's insistence that a marriage should be monogamous. The reality is that it's now common for men to have other women outside of their marriage. The expert said that many "lusty wives" today are also willing to have sex with other women. This actually helps remove the tension in many marriages, per Mirror.
The expert even proposed in his research that women having sex with other women might even increase the chances of reproduction for many heterosexual couples since there is less tension. "Female sexual fluidity may have evolved as an adaptation to facilitate it," the doctor wrote.
Dr. Satoshi Kanazawa's research involved a data with ten years of studies on sexual orientation. Participants in tests were either grouped as straight, bisexual, gay, mostly straight and mostly gay. But his findings and proposal, though unconventional, might support a previous study that suggested no woman is "totally straight" per BBC.
