New Rockstar Games News & Update: 'Red Dead Redemption' Sequel Might Be Out Soon

Rockstar Games, the tech company behind the popular games "Grand Theft Auto," "Midnight Club," "Max Payne" and "Red Dead," is preparing some real treats for gamers. Latest news has it that the company is working on new projects which will be out soon. The name that tops the list is a sequel to "Red Dead Redemption."

'Red Dead Redemption Sequel'

Tech Times revealed that many fans are expecting the sequel for "Red Dead Redemption," a game set in the West. The original game was launched in May 2010, running on Xbox 360 and PS3. The reason behind why fans are excited about a sequel to "Red Dead Redemption" can be blamed on the recent map that leaked. Fans must have figured out that a sequel is drawing nigh.

Since it mentioned projects, it means that Rockstar Games does not only plan to unleash "Red Dead Redemption's" sequel, but fans should anticipate more. But before searching for "Red Dead Redemption's" sequel's release date, better relax as according to Lanie Goldstein, CFO, Take Two Interactive expects a split between Rockstar Games and 2K Games, with the latter getting the bigger piece of the pie at 75%.

Not Until 2017

As to the release date, it is expected that Rockstar Games projects will be due on 2017. So there's not much to expect this 2016. Gamespot said that there won't be any new Rockstar Games until April of 2017.

As for Take Two, even without any new release, titles under Rockstar Games continue to bring in an income stream. The popular one, Grand Theft Auto V is among the leading games that is raking in good money for Take Two. In addition, microtransactions for GTA Online also earn big. It is also expected that back catalog sales will be bringing in more income.

Rockstar Games fans must not fret at the news that these projects will be made available on 2017. It's just less than a year of waiting before Rockstar Games will once more thrill fans out there.
