Artificial Intelligence News & Update: Google Launching A New Project To Feature How Creative AI Is In Making Arts

Nothing can stop Google from exploring what artificial intelligence (AI) can and can't do. According to new reports, Google is set to launch a new project that features how AI creates arts.

Google To Launch An AI To Create Art

According to Popular Science, Google is set to launch their new project, Magenta on June 1. Magenta is a research project that explores the use of AI in creating arts to ease the process for TensorFlow users.

One of the brains behind Google's Magenta is Douglas Eck. The research scientist reveals that the new AI aims to generate music, video, images and text using machine intelligence. The project uses TensorFlow, an open-source library for machine learning to pursue this project.

"The goal if Magenta is to produce open-source tools and models that help creative people be even more creative," Eck wrote. " I'm primarily looking at how to use so-called 'generative' machine learning models to create engaging media. Additionally, I'm working on how to bring other aspects of the creative process into play."

Magenta, the new AI artist is inspired from Google DeepDream. The DeepDream is a computer vision program with AI that is designed to find an enhanced pattern in images via algorithmic pareidolia. The outputs are over-processed images with a dreamlike hallucinogenic appearance.

Magenta App In The Works

Eck also teased that there is a potential Magenta app that will showcase the music and visual art created from the Magenta project. With this app, users can determine if they like the art due to its novelty or its inherent artistic value.

At the time, there is no release date for the Magenta App. We will keep you posted should there be any update or progress about the new AI artist.
