Wolverine's appearance in "X-Men: Apocalypse" just might be the most exciting thing about the mutant film, but Hugh Jackman's return as the antihero with the mutton chops is not without several casualties. "X-Men: Apocalypse" director Bryan Singer has just teased about Wolverine's appearance as Weapon X and it looks like Wolverine has a celebrity victim!
Weapon X Gets A Bloody Escape
The final trailer for "X-Men: Apocalypse" has already confirmed that Wolverine has a cameo in a scene in the Weapon X facility. Bryan Singer has also admitted that Hugh Jackman's portrayal of Wolverine in "X-Men: Apocalypse" is as the feral incarnation of the character that has been made into a weapon by William Stryker. In the trailer, it looks like Wolverine is set loose on Stryker's guards in the Weapon X facility, and his path is littered with some nameless extras, except for one.
Does That Guard Look Like Bryan Singer?
Bryan Singer recently spoke to Empire, where the "X-Men: Apocalypse" director admitted that he has a cameo in his own film as one of the guards Wolverine takes down during his escape from the Weapon X facility. "I did that on purpose," Singer said with a laugh. "It's not my usual thing, but to do it with him and then to get a bear hug from a bloody, but very happy, Wolverine was great. It was very poetic."
"X-Men: Apocalypse" Hints On "Wolverine 3" Villain
Fans hoping for a post-credits scene in "X-Men: Apocalypse" will not be disappointed, as the film features a major clue to "Wolverine 3." The "X-Men: Apocalypse" post-credits scene teases a possible "Wolverine 3" villain who could be connected to "ESSEX CORP." Who could this be? It might be Nathaniel Essex aka Mister Sinister, the evil geneticist who has also been connected to Apocalypse.
More "Wolverine 3" Villains!
Mister Sinister isn't the only one Wolverine will have to deal with in his next film. According to Nerdist, "Wolverine 3" could also pit Hugh Jackman against the cyborgs Reavers, who were created to take down mutants. If the Reavers are coming, it definitely makes sense for Wolverine to need the help of Patrick Stewart's Professor X.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" will finally hit theaters on May 27. "Wolverine 3" will have its roaring premiere on March 3, 2017.
