Father's Day is approaching and for wives who are still looking for a gift for their husbands, here are a couple of book recommendations. These books emphasize on the spiritual growth and development wives can share with their significant other. These are not your typical Father's Day gift, but these will bear a more fruitful and long-lasting impact that goes behind the holiday.
Kathi Lipp's "101 Simple Ways to Show Your Husband You Love Him" is great for wives who want to express their love and appreciation for their husband, and what better way to do this than Father's Day. It doesn't involve expensive presents, but it pertains to simple acts that are actually doable. The author explains the ways in her book using fun ideas.
If you aren't already singing praises about your husband to your friends and family, or cooking his favorite meals as a gesture of gratitude for fixing the light bulb or picking up the kids, Kathi Lipp suggests spicing things up by, among others:
- Giving your husband a break from a few household chores when he's busy with work.
- Learning about his interests, such as sports, and then engaging him in conversations about this.
- Listening to what he says about his job or interest, and then do a follow-up two days later if there are issues that need to be fixed.
Above all, the author suggests that wives should actually spoil their husband and not the kids. He should always be assured that no matter what, he comes first.
Apart from releasing "101 Simple Ways to Show Your Husband You Love Him," Kathi Lipp has also written "The Husband Project," "The Cure for the Perfect Life" and "21 Ways to Connect with Your Kids." She is also a speaker at various family conferences. Learn more about the author on her site.
The other Father's Day book suggestion is written by Boyd Bailey called "Two Minutes in the Bible For Men." This book encourages fathers -- despite their strength, wisdom and success -- to have a more Christ-centered existence. The book contains different themes that incorporate the lessons in the Bible in relation to money motivation, vision, time management and service, among others.
The author is a strong believer that if any Dad can spend at least two minutes of the day reflect on these spiritual teachings, then he'll evolve into a better father and human being. Boyd Bailey is the CEO of Ministry Ventures and the founder of Wisdom Hunters. He's also a dad with four daughters and several grandchildren. Learn more about the author on his site.
