Comic book creator Robert Kirkman already has a successful horror drama in "The Walking Dead," but is it possible that Cinemax's upcoming "Outcast" series will be much scarier than the AMC show? A new interactive trailer for Patrick Fugit's "Outcast" will let you know what it feels like to be possessed by demons, and it is as terrifying as it sounds!
Are You Possessed?
Cinemax's "Outcast" interactive trailer, aptly titled "Possession Begins," starts with a note that the teaser is rated TV-MA and intended for mature audiences only (via Comic Book Resources). It then invites the user to try Cinemax's 'Outcast' experience, but first to make sure that they have their headphones on. What follows is a stunning combination of 3D audio and imagery so disturbing that you will start to wonder if Cinemax's 'Outcast' experience is still just the trailer or if you truly are possessed. Is Cinemax's "Outcast" Scarier Than "The Walking Dead?"
Cinemax's "Outcast" may also be based on a comic book series created by Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta, but the show will take on a more terrifying premise than "The Walking Dead." Cinemax's "Outcast" follows the story of Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit), who has had to deal with demonic possessions since he was a child. With the help of Reverend Anderson (Philip Glenister), Barnes discovers that he has a larger role to play in the war against demons and may be the one person who can save the world from dark supernatural forces.
So is Cinemax's "Outcast" more terrifying that AMC's "The Walking Dead?" That depends on what you fear the most. However, Cinemax's "Outcast" holds the promise of a truly scary experience that could possess an audience. After all, the show has already been renewed for a second season before the pilot episode even aired on Cinemax.
Cinemax's "Outcast" will premiere on June 3. You can check if the show is truly scarier than "The Walking Dead" by watching the pilot episode "A Darkness Surrounds Him" below.
