"Jurassic World 2" will be guided by a well-prepared director in JA Bayona, who took the time to get into the mind Michael Crichton for the dinosaur sequel. Based on JA Bayona's description if his preparation, "Jurassic World 2" may also show a bit of influence of blending fantasy and reality similar to the style of author Philip K Dick.
Influences That 'Jurassic World 2' May Reflect
Scified cites an Eleconomista interview with JA Bayona where the "Jurassic World 2" director described his preparation phase for continuing the dinosaur trilogy. JA Bayona revealed that he had been reading all the novels by science fiction writer Michael Crichton, who authored "Jurassic Park" and "Andromeda Strain."
The media outlet points out that JA Bayona going into Michael Crichton's work may reflect inclusion in "Jurassic World 2" of untouched and darker components in the novels. Scified also proposes that "Jurassic World 2" will see an integration of philosophical elements seen in the "JP" films.
Philosophical 'Echo' In 'Jurassic World 2?'
With the anticipated explosion of dinosaur technology to the open market in "Jurassic World 2," JA Bayona may reportedly find the necessity to layer in such a theme. This plays well into the events of the first film spilling onto "Jurassic World 2" as a kind of Pandora's Box opening, which was described by Colin Trevorrow in a Screen Rant report.
"Jurassic World 2" director JA Bayona gave an interesting description of the Michael Crichton novels. "[They] have a vision of fantasy blended with reality - something that can also be felt in writings from authors such as Philip K. Dick," JA Bayona said.
Already JA Bayona is proving Colin Trevorrow's faith that the horror genre director will push the boundaries in "Jurassic World 2." In a separate Scified report, Colin Trevorrow stated his belief that JA Bayona will take big risks for "Jurassic World 2."
JA Bayona will roll "Jurassic World 2" into theaters on June 22, 2018. Roles will be reprised by Chris Pratt as Owen Grady, Bryce Howard Dallas as Claire Dearing, Vincent D'Onofrio as Vic Hoskins and BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu in "Jurassic World 2."
