Gone Too Far: This Christian School’s Indoctrination Is Teaching Girls To Subject Themselves to Men

This Christian fundamentalist school with a system developed in southern Baptists States, teaches children about creationism, and that girls are to subject themselves to men. The school is known as the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) schools. Originating in the US, it is now also operating their classes all across the UK.

Besides the two things mentioned earlier they also teach their students that being gay or lesbian is an unnatural thing. According to the report by Independent, the school has been registered as a private school. The way they handle their classes is placing dividers in between each student's desks. There are in between, 20 and 60 pupils that are ages 4-18 that attend each school.

There have already been more than a thousand children who passed through this school but there is very little information about them. Students who have been in the school and whistle blowers gave reports about what being a student in that school is like.

One of the former pupil said of the school, "No one outside the schools knows about what happens inside them, that's why they've been able to go on like this for so long."

Ten years from that time now, she said she is scared about the education she has received. Some serious concern have been raised regarding the system of education the students of the said school are receiving.

There are reports that the school allegedly do not provide formal education qualifications besides only that of Christian certificates. It seem to not even equip them for the opportunity and employment beyond what the church can offer.

Some students of the school said that they felt socially isolated because of the dividers. According to one former student she said, "By the time I left the school, I hadn't really learnt anything that was of any relevance. I was taught facts and figures from reading the books, but there was no social learning in terms of interaction."

The school is now being inspected for their manner in educating their students. According to the spokesperson for the Department of Education, "Independent schools are not required to follow the national curriculum, but they are required to teach a curriculum that encourages respect for other people."

In addition, "ACE schools, like all other independent schools, are inspected against the new, tougher Independent School Standards, and where there are concerns a school is failing to meet these standards we will not hesitate to take action."
