The return of "Orange is the New Black" for Season 4 is closer. All 13 episodes will be ready to stream on Netflix at midnight, Friday, June 17 across all territories.
"Orange is New Black" Season 4 should be a definitive season as this time, viewers are more familiar and aligned with certain characters and their stories. But in keeping things interesting, there are expected additions in the upcoming show, too. What can fans expect from "OINTB" Season 4? Here are three of the biggest storylines that should be rolling out.
"Orange is the New Black" Season 4: Will Piper Finally Get Out Prison?
Piper has been the central character of "OINTB" from the beginning, but with so many people in the cast, it looks like the character could be slowly fading in the background. She no longer has anyone on her side after alienating those who have been part of her life. As Pop Sugar suggests, her character could even be killed off this season.
Preview pics for "Orange is the New Black" suggests Piper will have a tough time in Season 4. She's vulnerable and she's being attacked. Ironically, she's staying in prison longer than she should've been. If she's not going to get killed off, this year might be the year Piper finally gets out of prison. There's just no way her incarceration could be extended again with another offense. Her story is nearly done.
"Orange is the New Black" Season 4: Daya's Baby And Baby Daddy
When "OITNB" last left off, Daya's baby had been handed over to her mom's life partner, Cesar. But things got a lot complicated since the birth. The baby's father, Bennett, walked out and Daya had to lie about the baby to the grandmother willing to adopt her. Worse, Cesar got busted and now the baby is in state's custody.
There's a strong chance Bennett returns in "Orange is the New Black" Season 4, if only to bring closure to this story. Actor Matt McGorry once said in an interview with Extra TV that the doors aren't closed. His character is not yet dead and he has had a lot of time to figure out what he has done to his child and Daya.
"Orange is the New Black" Season 4: New Faces, Old Faces And An Overcrowded Prison
"Orange is the New Black" Season 4 will have quite an overcrowded prison as Litchfield undergoes a transition. There will be new faces played by Jolene Purdy, Kelly Karbacz, Mike Houston and Brad William Henke. They are either inmates or the prison guards.
Both inmates and prison guards will have to adjust with the old inmates, who also have to get used to the new rules. The teaser has shown a riot happening in Litchfield and it's not hard to determine why this is so. Caputo, the new warden, will have a lot to deal with this season especially since Litchfield doesn't have the capacity to handle too many prisoners.
