Michael Schumacher Recovery Latest News & Updates: Schumacher Family Still Hopeful Over Former F1 Champ’s Recovery Despite Losing Millions In Medical Expenses

Diehard Michael Schumacher fans and avid Formula One (F1) enthusiasts are definitely hoping for the full recovery of the embattled car racing legend. Unfortunately, there has been a scarcity of up-to-date reports about Schumacher's current health condition and recovery due to the ongoing media blackout requested by his family.

Michael Schumacher's Rehabilitation

There are a lot of uncertainties surrounding Michael Schumacher's recovery and health condition. But his wife Corinna and his two children Mick and Gina-Maria remain hopeful and supportive of the ongoing rehabilitation of the 47-year-old former F1 superstar at the comforts of their home in Geneva, Switzerland.

In fact, Michael Schumacher is reportedly undergoing an extensive rehabilitation program at a highly-secured and state-of-the-art custom built suite located at his Geneva estate. The F1 champ is also under the care of 15 medical experts 24/7, as previously reported.

Michael Schumacher's Current Health Condition

For the past two years following his tragic skiing accident at the French Alpine resort of Meribel in December 2013, several reports about Michael Schumacher's health condition have circulated online. But because of the media blackout and lack of details, a Brazilian media panel claimed that the news and updates reported by the media are merely hearsays.

"There are no more medical bulletins, so all we get is hearsay," Brazil's UOL journalist Gabriel Curty said, as per GrandPrix.

Based on the latest report of Sportsrageous, however, Michael Schumacher is currently not capable of speaking, walking or performing any daily tasks. But former Ferrari boss Luca Di Montezemolo recently told CNN's The Circuit that the seven-time F1 world champion has been responding well to treatments.

"I'm very pleased to know that he is reacting," Di Montezemolo said. "I know how strong he is. I'm sure that thanks to his determination - which will be crucial - he will come out from this very, very difficult situation... And I really hope."

Unfortunately, the 68-year-old Italian businessman didn't give any further explanation regarding his statements. There was also no official confirmation from the Schumacher family regarding Di Montezemolo's claims.

Sabine Kehm's Latest Update On Michael Schumacher

Despite the lack of information regarding Michael Schumacher's health condition and recovery, Sabine Kehm, the longtime manager of the German racing legend, recently gave an update when she accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of Schumacher at the Nurburgring on May 27. She urged the fans to remain hopeful even though the future remains uncertain.

"I realize we would all like it if Michael himself could be here, but unfortunately that is not possible," Kehm said, as per Sports Mole. "We have to accept it and learn to deal with it. We will continue to hope and do everything so that it will be different again."

Michael Schumacher's Treatment Costing Millions

Michael Schumacher's health treatment are reportedly costing the family millions of dollars. In fact, the custom-built medical suite alone had cost over $14 million, not to mention Schumacher's weekly medical care expenses valued at $140,000, FX News Call reports.

Even though Michael Schumacher has amassed a net worth value of $800 million as listed by Celebrity Net Worth, the medical bills have reportedly pushed Schumi's wife, Corrina, to sell their $25 million jet, as reported by Daily Mail. In addition, Corinna also sold their $3 million (£2 million) Norwegian home, which was located in the north of Oslo in Trysil and had been used as the holiday home of the Schumacher family since the '90s, Daily Mirror notes.
