Oh no! Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who has amassed a net worth value of $320 million, is reportedly underpaid. According to the latest report, the 31-year-old Real Madrid striker may have been reportedly poorly paid, suggesting that Ronaldo is due for a raise.
Is Cristiano Ronaldo Really Underpaid?
Cristiano Ronaldo has been named as the highest-paid athlete in the world, thanks to his lucrative deals on the pitch and endorsements. But according to Forbes, Ronaldo may be underpaid compared to other top athletes like Lionel Messi, Stephen Curry, Roger Federer and LeBron James.
Based on the comprehensive report of the publication, figures suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo should get a raise because other athletes appeared to be overpaid. But the scenario where Ronaldo will go to his sponsors and demand a raise will be unlikely as it is for the other athletes who were reportedly overpaid to return the sponsorship sum.
Cristiano Ronaldo To Invade Hollywood Soon?
Iceland coach Lars Lagerback recently called Cristiano Ronaldo an "excellent actor" for his alleged "play-acting" on the pitch. The comments of the 67-year-old coach came before their European Champion Group F battle in Saint-Etienne, France on Tuesday, Daily Mail notes.
"Portugal has one of the best players in the world in Ronaldo but he's also an excellent actor," Lagerback told the reporters in France. "In the final of the Champions League against Atletico, we saw another performance from someone who could be in Hollywood."
Aside from Cristiano Ronaldo, Lagerback also slammed Pepe's theatrics. In fact, the veteran coach claimed that both Real Madrid players have feigned injury and attempted to fool the referee during the Champions League finals in May.
"I mention Pepe," Lagerback added, as per Sky Sports. "I mean, you can see the clips... for me that is acting, really, of high class. But I don't know what demands they have in Hollywood. I don't like that. I'd like it if they were able to watch the videos to retrospectively punish that sort of thing."
So, does it mean Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe would invade Hollywood soon? Do you think both Real Madrid players play acted during the Champions League finals?
Cristiano Ronaldo Slams Iceland's 'Small Mentality'
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo recently slammed Iceland's playing style at the European Championship opener against Portugal. Ronaldo's comments came after Iceland coach Lars Lagerback accused him and Pepe for play acting during the Champions League finals last month.
"When [Iceland] don't try to play and just defend, defend, defend this in my opinion shows a small mentality and are not going to do anything in the competition," Ronaldo said, Daily Mirror quotes.
