A couple in UK, Sadie Brittle, 32, and her husband Gary, 36 were devastated when they lost their second child due to ectopic pregnancy. On April 26, 2016 Sadie was already eight weeks into the pregnancy and was very excited about her delivery.
The couple were stunned however, when they found out that even after the operation, they found out that they are still going to have another bundle of joy. The doctors and the couple did not know that there is still an second embryo after the first one was removed, and it was healthily growing in her body. Sadie is 19 weeks pregnant with the second embryo. This condition is called a heterotopic pregnancy. It occurs to one in every 30,000 woman.
According to her story in The Sun, she was working as a hairdresser going to her daily work routine, when all of a sudden she didn't feel well. Her eyesight turned blurry and she was sweating, feeling that she would pass out, she asked to be excused from work. With her blood pressure dropping, she was rushed to the hospital and was told that she had an ectopic pregnancy and would need an operation to have one of her tubes removed.
After some recovery, her family went on a vacation to Spain with their 4 year old daughter. While basking in the sun she noticed her tummy was still enlarged as if she was pregnant. She couldn't believe her pregnancy test when it came out positive and so she went to call a midwife from Spain.
After going back from vacation, she went to see her doctor who confirmed her pregnancy. Now at 20 weeks, the baby's development is normal and healthy as could be. They had him scanned at Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield, West Mids.
Her husband Gary said: "To have this type of pregnancy is a one in 30,000 chance, so it's a miracle. He is a maintenance engineer for buildings. The couple are just as excited with their daughter as they will soon welcome the new member of their family that they named Teddy.
Here is another rare video of a heterotopic pregnancy some years ago. MIracle indeed.
