‘DOOM’ Latest News & Updates: Single-Player DLC In The Horizon? Bethesda Softworks Reveals ‘Unto The Evil’ Multiplayer Expansion And Modes

Ever since "DOOM" was released in May, many fans took notice on the improvements of the classic Bethesda and id Software's demon-slaughtering game reboot. In fact, it's considered as one of the most positively received games today. Unfortunately, the game has also become a target of criticisms due to its shooter's Hack Modules.

'DOOM' Needs Improvement

Due to "DOOM" hack module issues, executive producer Marty Stratton recently revealed in an interview with GameSpot on Wednesday, Jun. 15, that the game's developer Bethesda is currently finding ways to further improve the game. In addition, Stratton also admitted that there are some things that needed to be tuned out in the game.

Furthermore, Stratton noted Bethesda's plans to add a so-called "experimental" playlist in "DOOM," where potential modes with no demons and no Hack Modules will be tried out before its public release. He also hinted the possibility for additional interesting features, which perhaps may include a single-player DLC, coming into the game in the future but no specific details have been revealed.

"Right now we're focused on getting the game that we have into more and more people's hands," Stratton explained. "I can't go too far beyond what we've talked about there. We do have a couple things on the horizon that I think will give players new ways to play with the current Doom game and some stuff that I think will be exciting for people."

'DOOM: Unto The Evil' Multiplayer DLC

Speaking of exciting "DOOM" contents and features, Bethesda has unveiled the game's upcoming downloadable content pack known as "Unto The Evil" during its E3 2016 conference on Jun. 12. According to Polygon, the multiplayer pack will include a new demon called Harvester, new armor and gun, three new multiplayer maps, plus more added features. "DOOM: Unto The Evil" multiplayer DLC is reportedly slated for release in a couple of months.

More DLC, Modes For 'DOOM'

Aside from "DOOM: Unto The Evil," Bethesda is also adding more DLC soon. It will include new maps and free-for-all multiplayer modes, as well as classic deathmatch, EnGadget notes.

In addition to "DOOM: Unto The Evil" expansion, Bethesda is also adding new multiplayer modes such as "Exodus," a capture-the-flag mode and "Sector," a new multizone capture mode. A SnapMap tool is also reportedly updated, noting a "new Hell visual theme," props and weapons.

"DOOM" SnapMap also offers "true single-player experiences." Meanwhile, "DOOM" three multiplayer DLC packs are reportedly available for $14.99 individually or $39.99 in "DOOM" season pass.
