"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 spoilers hint that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev will be reuniting for what appears to be the series finale. Rumors about the show coming to an end began after Dobrev left The CW series and the show's ratings experienced a decline.
Somerhalder and Kat Graham also announced their exit following "TVD" Season 8. This meant that the upcoming season of The CW drama may pave the way for the most awaited reunion between Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore aka "Delena."
However, a report from International Business Times suggests that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's reunion on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 may not be possible because of Somerhalder's wife, Nikki Reed. According to the publication, Reed feels threatened of the former couple's reunion.
As it turns out, though, the reunion between Somerhalder and Dobrev may still happen given that "TVD" helped them with their respective careers. Creator Julie Plec also confirmed that the 27-year-old actress will definitely be back for the series finale.
Meanwhile, Inquisitr notes on the possibility that Dobrev may return to "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 as a completely different character in order to avoid Somerhalder. This could mean that Dobrev may choose to reprise her role as Katherine and not as Elena in order to avoid any intimate scenes with her ex-boyfriend.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 premieres on Friday, Oct. 21 on The CW.
