The projected release of "GTA 6" by publisher Rockstar Games with a London map may be affected by the UK Brexit. Considering Brexit, "GTA 6" release date and map speculation after E3 2016 now places a spotlight on viability for the new "Grand Theft Auto" in London.
"GTA 6" news compilation Digital Spy cited nod from Rockstar North to "Grand Theft Auto" suitability of London. This aligns with the statement by Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser that for now "Grand Theft Auto" games market with a contemporary, American-type image.
This includes locating "Grand Theft Auto" (including "GTA 6") in a largely English-speaking setting. If Rockstar heeded fan clamor for "Grand Theft Auto" outside the US, London mayhem would be "GTA 6."
This lends texture to the news by Grand Theft Auto (GTA 6) that Rockstar North is including world events. "Grand Theft Auto" in London would be an effective set-up for the reported "Bonus International Mission" in "GTA 6."
Given, however, that the UK Brexit is unpopular for now, marketability of "GTA 6" with a London map may be questionable. Certainly, the UK is expected to stabilize with a three-year implementation of Brexit.
Still, Brexit timetable may not leave much time for "GTA 6" production to reverse with market change. If Rockstar were to play safe, Brexit would be key for that doubled-up US map size becoming the "GTA 6" offering.
Dan Houser did promise that "Grand Theft Auto" may eventually branch out to countries where English is not the first language. In the past, Rockstar attempted this by sending "GTA" R & D to scout Tokyo, Japan as a possible map for "Grand Theft Auto."
With or without Brexit, continued success from "GTA Online" microtransactions allows Rockstar to take time with "Grand Theft Auto" game decisions in or outside of London. Among the stronger buzz for a "GTA 6" release date tags a 2020 slate, which places "Grand Theft Auto 6" alongside speculated PS5 and XBox Two availability.
