"Lucifer" Season 2 is set to return Monday, September 19 at 9:00 p.m. on Fox. The show recently added Tricia Helfer in the cast and she will play a significant role as Charlotte. She is the mother of Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside).
The role is an interesting one since, in real life, Tricia Helfer, 42, is only five years older than Tom Ellis, 37 and four years younger than D.B. Woodside, 46. But the actress said in an exclusive interview that despite the close age difference, it's all going to work out. The actress also found out in the script that her character is really "not that much older" than her TV sons.
"Lucifer" Season 2: Who Is Mom?
Tricia Helfer told TV Line that it will all make sense when "Lucifer" Season 2 airs the first two episodes, where her character will be introduced. She also added that the writers will not make the viewers guess about Charlotte. "There's been enough of that with the concern that she's escaped from Hell," said Hefner.
Charlotte, the Mother of Angels, was trapped by her ex-husband, God, for "thousands of years" in the comic book series it's based from, which was written by Neil Gaiman. But now that she's free, she vows to spend time with her children, who are currently staying on Earth.

But Lucifer is not convinced this is the reason for his mom's arrival in the mortal world and "Lucifer" Season 2 will be delving on this mother storyline, per Deadline. In the first season, Lucifer had been dealing with this daddy issues. Production is apparently starting its first day of filming for "Lucifer" Season 2.
Tricia Helfer is famous for her role as a cylon in "Battlestar Galactica" and has the knack for playing "devilish" characters, per Hidden Remote. Her status on "Lucifer" Season 2 is a recurring character. Aside from the actress, "Lucifer" Season 2 has also added Aimee Garcia as Ella Lopez.
