In the melodramatic realm of "Grey's Anatomy," fans are already aware that nothing is certain on the show. As a matter of fact, several fans got the shock of their lives when creator Shonda Rhimes killed off Patrick Dempsey's character Dr. Derek Shepherd during the series' season 11 finale.
Now, several "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 reports have emerged, hinting the possible plotlines of its brand new season. However, with the unpredictable nature of "Grey's Anatomy," a lot of unexpected things can happen in the show.
'Grey's Anatomy' Season 13 Premiere Date
ABC has recently announced its fall premiere lineup. According to Variety, "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will premiere on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
Based on the ABC lineup, "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will then be followed by the network's newest legal drama "Notorious" at 9 p.m., in replacement for Kerry Washington's "Scandal." On the same date, "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 will also premiere at 10 p.m.
'Grey's Anatomy' Season 13 To Explore Meredith And Nathan Riggs' Possible Romance?
As for "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 plotlines, the upcoming season may explore the possibility of a blossoming romance between Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Dr. Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson). The romance plot will likely come after their season 12 episode admission, where they expressed their feelings towards each other, iDigitalTimes notes.
Unfortunately, Meredith and Riggs' romance in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will be facing some roadblocks, thanks to Meredith's half-sister Maggie, who believes Riggs has feelings for her. Meredith and Riggs' love story materialized after Meredith dealt with the loss of husband Dr. Derek Shepherd (Dempsey) in season 11.
April And Jackson To Reconcile In 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 13?
Things have been quite difficult for Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew) in the previous seasons of "Grey's Anatomy." But there may be some possibilities that the ex-couple would reconcile in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 as they recently become new parents.
Unfortunately, the reconciliation plans in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 might be thwarted Jackson's mom, Catherine (Debbie Allen), who wanted to sue April for hiding her pregnancy from her son, Design & Trend reveals. As the ex-couple faces several interruptions in their relationship, Williams recently shared a glimpse of what to expect on April and Jackson's character, also hinting the fact that the ex-couple still harbors feelings toward each other.
"It's day to day with Jackson and April," Williams told TVLine. "They can have a very civil, mature conversation one moment, then be at each other's throats the next because real life is like that. We carry frustrations and baggage and grudges."
A Baby For Owen And Amelia In 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 13
Aside from Jackson and April, another "Grey's Anatomy" couple will be getting a major screen-time in "Grey's Anatomy" season 13. As per Hall Of Fame Magazine, Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) could be planning on having a baby soon, following their wedding and honeymoon in the previous season.
