'Fuller House' Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers & News: Olsen Twins To Appear In Special Episode? Everything We Know So Far

Netflix's most popularly streamed series, "Fuller House," is in the middle of filming Season 2. Recently, the cast shared photos to indicate that they have shot a special episode. It featured all of the Tanners and their extended family. Were the Olsen twins present? What's been going on with "Fuller House" Season 2 filming so far?

'Fuller House' Season 2 Special Episode Is About Thanksgiving

"Fuller House" Season 2 has planned another Thanksgiving episode to follow "The Miracle of Thanksgiving" from Season 1. Based on the photos shared by star Jodi Sweetin on Instagram, everyone was there, including the Tanners' extended family and closest friends.

But it looks like, a Tanner sister is still not in the picture, just like last season. Michelle, played by Mary Kate and Ashley Oslen in the early years of "Full House," is missing from the festivities again.

Mary Kate and Ashely Oslen's return has been much-awaited on the show by both fans and cast, but it looks like this won't be happening despite how producers have been pushing for it. Back in January, People reports that the former child stars, who have turned fashion moguls, are no longer comfortable working on a TV set. They also have little memories or recollection of working on the show since this happened when they were still babies.

'Fuller House' Season 2 More Surprise Characters

However, "Fuller House" Season 2 is still filled with surprises despite the missing link. For one thing, the show will finally be bringing Uncle Joey's (Dave Coulier) wife into the story. TV Line reports that viewers will be introduced to Ginger in the sixth episode, which happens to be the Thanksgiving special.

Aside from Ginger, "Fuller House" Season 2 will also welcome guest star Alan Thicke. Glamour reports his character's identity remains a secret, but it should be noted that the actor played a TV dad on the 80s series "Growing Pains," which starred Candace Cameron Bure's real-life brother, Kirk.

"Fuller House" Season 2 is also introducing its first gay character. Potentially, he could be a love interest for DJ Tanner (Bure), who will out himself as gay. The producers and writers have long been interested in exploring LBGT issues into the show. Candace Cameron Bure is said to be supportive of the idea, per Deadline.

"Fuller House" Season 2's premiere date has not yet been set by Netflix, even as Season 2 filming is almost done. Aside from Bure and Sweetin, the show also stars Andrea Barber, Scott Weinger, John Brotherton and Juan Pablo di Pace.
