Details about the sixth season of FX's "American Horror Story" are still being kept under wraps, but small teasers pop up every now and then. Just recently, executive producer and creator Ryan Murphy revealed that "AHS" Season 6 will delve into a scare setting focused primarily on children.
Murphy said the two concepts he's considering for "American Horror Story" Season 6 are different from their previous storylines, with both ideas involving "elements of children," TVLine reported. He described children's innocence as a "sort of wide-eyed entryway into some world" and tackling that theme is "always very dramatic and satisfying."
So fans should expect the upcoming season to be something along the likes of "Child's Play," "Orphanage" or "Sinister." The fifth season of "American Horror Story" already featured creepy youngsters in the form of vampire children.
Cast Members For Top-Secret 'American Horror Story' Season 6
Past "American Horror Story" cast members will return for the FX drama's sixth season. In June, Cheyenne Jackson revealed that he will return for Season 6 after appearing as the hotel owner Will Drake in Season 5, "AHS: Hotel," according to a separate report from TVLine. The actor also shared that they have started shooting for Season 6.
Lady Gaga and Angela Bassett also revealed that they will be returning for the upcoming installment. Lady Gaga first appeared in the show's fifth season as The Countess, a role that made her win a Golden Globe award. Bassett, meanwhile, made her debut on "American Horror Story" in Season 3, "AHS: Coven," as the voodoo queen Marie Laveau. Leslie Jordan, who last appeared in "Coven," will come back as well for Season 6.
During the PaleyFest panel in March, Murphy extended a Season 6 invite to the cast members that were with him onstage. The roster included Kathy Bates, Denis O'Hare, Sarah Paulson, Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley and Matt Bomer, Deadline listed. Jessica Lange, a major player from "American Horror Story" Seasons 1-4, has said she will not return for "AHS" Season 6 or in any future installments of the show.
"AHS" Season 6 To Have Two Time Frames
FX head Jonathan Landgraf said back in January that "American Horror Story" Season 6 will showcase two time periods. According to Landgraf, the upcoming installment will be "principally in the present" with "echoes of the past" injected in it, TVLine added.
The logo for "American Horror Story" Season 6 was recently unveiled. The black-and-red image depicted a combination of the number six and a question mark. Check it out here. A title, however, is yet to be revealed.
"American Horror Story" will return to FX on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10PM ET.
