‘Suits’ Season 6 Spoilers: Mike Will Face Tests & ‘Threats’ In Prison; Harvey Will Do Whatever It Takes To Free His Protégé

"Suits" Season 6 will pick up the huge events left behind by Season 5, specifically Mike going to jail for two years due to his crimes. As expected, Pearson Specter Litt was also severely hit by Mike's situation and it's up to Harvey to fix the fallout. In a recent interview, "Suits" lead stars Gabriel Macht and Patrick J. Adams discussed how the show's sixth season will deal with these problems.

Prison Will Take A Toll On Mike

Adams told TVLine that his character Mike will be "tested more than ever" now that he's in prison. New characters will be introduced, as well as "new interactions, new relationships and new threats." Those threats will likely include Malcolm-Jamal Warner as the Danbury Prison's counselor, Erik Palladino as Kevin Miller and Paul Schulze as Frank Gallo, Mike's fellow inmates.

The 34-year-old actor also praised "Suits" writers for putting Mike behind bars, saying that the storyline is "a bold, scary step" that has taken the USA Network drama in "a brand new direction," the news outlet reported.

Harvey's Efforts To Free Mike

Macht, meanwhile, said Harvey will do whatever it takes to free Mike from prison and rebuild Pearson Specter Litt when "Suits" Season 6 opens. The lawyer is also guilty about how his actions are driving the law firm to the ground, pushing majority of the partners and employees to jump from the sinking ship. Harvey will finally own up to his mistakes and will even apologize to Jessica (Gina Torres) and Louis (Rick Hoffman).

Mike going to prison will no doubt affect Rachel (Meghan Markle) and probably their relationship. The couple almost got married in Season 5, but Mike backed off when he realized he's going to jail. E! News, however, reported that Mike and Rachel's wedding almost happened but it was changed a day before filming because it would mean leaving a huge burden in the Season 5 finale.

As for the other couple on "Suits," Harvey and Donna, Sarah Rafferty said fans of the couple would probably have to wait longer for a romantic development between the two. In an interview with TVLine, Rafferty said Season 6 will not "dig too much into emotions between [Donna and Harvey]" because they would be busy rebuilding what's left of Pearson Specter Litt.

"They're really busy working s-t out, and they're not going to have their confusing relationship status get in the way of their goals," the actress added.

"Suits" Season 6 will premiere on Wednesday, July 12 at 9PM on the USA Network. The upcoming season will also feature guest stars Alan Rosenberg, Malcolm Gets and David Hewlett.
