"The Last of Us 2" confirmed release date rumors are hinting at a possible 2018 launch. Is Naughty Dog working double time to announce the highly anticipated sequel?
Details about "The Last of Us 2" have been really limited online, with speculations and theories mostly keeping eager fans afloat. New reports are suggesting that Neil Druckmann and his team have already brainstormed ideas about the new game, but specifics haven't been laid out as of writing.
In a previous interview, Druckmann dished on "The Last of Us 2" confirmed release date and development, and somehow gave hope that the sequel could make it to stands sooner or later. "The answer is - and this is totally honest, and I've said this in the past - that when Bruce and I moved over to Uncharted 4, we were brainstorming ideas for The Last Of Us 2 with new characters; ideas for TLOU 2 with Joel and Ellie; ideas for a sci-fi game; ideas for a fantasy game, and building prototypes for each one of those ideas," Druckmann said as reported by Cinema Blend. "And just as we were getting close to settling or narrowing that list down, we were asked to work on Uncharted 4."
Fans have also offered their thoughts online about what can be expected from "The Last of Us 2." Although not everyone is fond of having Joel back, almost everyone are clamoring to play as Ellie more in the sequel.
As Mobile & Apps reported, there have been rumors that Joel might not return to "The Last of Us 2." Given this development, it would be a good opportunity for Naughty Dog to use Ellie more in the new title and even make her the lead character.
