Daniel Radcliffe comes back to the big screen with its latest offering "Imperium." A story of a young FBI agent, Nate Foster who went in an undercover mission to take down a white supremacist terrorist group.
"Imperium" took inspiration from true events of a real federal agent Michael German., who went undercover in white supremacist groups. His time spent with the organization led him to co-write with director Daniel Ragussis, the much awaited film starring Daniel Radcliffe.
As Daniel Radcliffe is still well-known for his "Harry Potter" films, this could help him in further moving away from his iconic role. Radcliffe's role in "Imperium" is an FBI agent recruited to infiltrate a neo-Nazi group provides a serious plot that most fans are not familiar in seeing with Daniel Radcliffe.
Reports are also saying that "Imperium" is the most serious and dramatic role Daniel Radcliffe has ever done and that the plot is very timely today. However, after the latest trailer for the movie was released, viewers were also keen to criticize the film.
According to The Bit Bag, viewers expressed dismay as "Imperium" takes away the main issue regarding Islamic terrorism. Others were even saying that the movie will also stop Donald Trump from winning the election.
"People talking about Muslims as a means to deflect that Nazis are horrible people. Just as bad as hardline Muslims," one comment said.
However, director of "Imperium" Daniel Ragussis explained that as he was making the film, he feels that it is more relevant in today's issues. "We have a stereotype of what it means to be a white supremacist, but when I began collaborating with Michael and doing my own research," Ragussis said. "I was stunned by the depth and the extent of this movement."
