"General Hospital" star Kirsten Storms took a break from ABC's daytime soap at the end of May due to skin issues. But was her absence actually due to her divorce with Brandon Barash?
Split With Husband Stressed Kirsten Out Of 'General Hospital'
Late in May, Kirsten Storms personally announced via her social media accounts that she was taking a leave of absence from "General Hospital" to deal with her skin disease. Apparently, she's been having the problem for some time already that it reached a point that the soap had difficulty covering them up with makeup.
Kirsten's temporary exit from "General Hospital" came a month after she and her estranged husband announced that they are divorcing. Brandon Barash told Soap Opera Digest that they made the mutual decision to separate ways, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason. But despite Brandon assuring fans that they were breaking up "amicably," it sure caused stress. And Kirsten's skin problem was due to stress. So speculations that Kirsten was taking some time off because of her divorce could have some grain of truth about it after all.
The real-life couple has a two-year-old daughter, Harper Barash, who is their priority when it comes to keeping their relationship good.
Kirsten Returns To 'General Hospital' In August
The 33-year-old actress is returning to ABC soap opera "General Hospital" as Maxie Jones by the first week of August, TVLine reported. Kirsten also posted a photo of herself on the set on Instagram and said, "Maxie's short hair returns to #GH ... and so do I."
While she was away, "Days of Our Lives" actress Molly Burnett filled in for her. Fans are already excited to see her back and while they may have no problem with Molly playing Maxie, fans have gotten used to Kirsten since she has been acting the role since 2005.
"General Hospital" airs every weekday on ABC at 2 p.m.
