Fans of one of the most popular video games, "Final Fantasy 7," were thrilled when Square Enix unveiled at the E3 2015 its plans to remake FF7. However, that excitement soon turned to worry when the developer failed to provide an update on the game during last month's E3. Is the "Final Fantasy 7" remake still in development or has Square Enix decided to cancel this?
Game director Yoshinori Kitase last updated fans about the "Final Fantasy 7" remake in a blog post on Square Enix's official site in December. He explained what gamers can expect from FF7, citing some of the facets that will set the "Final Fantasy 7" remake apart from its original version, which was first released in 1997. Specifically, this reinvented game will come in three installments.
'Final Fantasy 7' Remake Steadily Moving
Then last June, game developer Tetsuya Nomura granted an interview with KH Insider. He stated that the development of "Final Fantasy 7" remake is doing steadily well, but he didn't elaborate on this further.
But noting the lack of updates, Nomura assured "Final Fantasy 7" gamers that things are still set. Nomura also added that Square Enix is compiling the specifics in preparation for a big announcement about FF7.
"We plan to bring a whole lot out in one go instead of dribs and drabs, so please look forward to it," Nomura stated via KH Insider. Nomura also acknowledged that he doesn't know when this next big announcement is coming, but hopes that gamers will remain excited for the "Final Fantasy 7" remake.
