Karissa Mitchell, 9, was born without a right hand. But students and future scientists from Siena College turned her life around with their special gift. They made Karissa a prosthetic hand but added a delightful incentive. The prosthetic was designed with "Frozen" theme, which is apparently Karissa's favorite movie.
According to her parents, Karissa looks up to Elsa in "Frozen" because like the character, she knows what it's like to be seen as different as the other kids. Living without her right hand had been a struggle, but thanks to the students, Karissa is now able to use her hand like it's been a part of her.
The "Frozen" themed prosthetic didn't cost the family anything and because she's till young, the limbs the students created didn't also cost a lot of money. Watch her receive the gift and see the sparkle in her eyes as she tries in out in the video below.
