Before the show even premiered on July 10, "Return to Amish" star Kate Stoltz posted a series of angry tweets about how she regrets being part of it. She also responded to some tweets to clarify the scenes she was featured in a preview. Most of her tweets have since been deleted, but was it just a tactic to make a buzz? Why would she publicly criticize her own show?
Kate Stoltz On 'Return to Amish'
Fans of "Return to Amish" are excited to see the show again, but Kate Stoltz doesn't feel that way. "Doing a reality show was one of the worst decisions I made in my life. Everything on the show is so edited and out of context," Stoltz said in a tweet on Friday that was already deleted, Us Weekly reported. "Tip to anyone that wants a good life: Go to school, work hard and stay [in] control of ur life. Reality tv ruins people's lives and futures."
"Return to Amish" star Kate said she wants people to know the truth about reality shows and even encouraged fans on Twitter to ask questions because they deserve to know what's real. In the preview clip, Kate shared, "I have an internship with Cynthia Rowley." And then she said, "There are women that are rude and disrespectful." On Twitter, Stoltz clarified that she was not calling anyone from CR disrespectful and that statement was completely about someone unrelated.
'Return to Amish' Producers Use Script, Bully Cast
The "Return to Amish" Season 3 preview clip also showed Kate being tired of the question about a boyfriend. She said, "Every single time that I'm on camera, I'm being asked about it. I don't want to talk about it." Kate Stoltz shared on Twitter that it was indeed exhausting, adding that the producers were creating a drama because she doesn't have a boyfriend that would give her some good storyline. She added, "We were bullied and harassed while filming. If we didn't go along with the story line, they would turn it around and make us look bad."
"I stayed quiet for four years, scared of what would happen if I would tell the truth. I'm not holding back anymore," added the "Return to Amish" star.
TLC has not commented on the matter yet.
"Return to Amish" Season 3 airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. on TLC.
