"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 spoilers hint that the creature lurking inside the vault will be unveiled in the upcoming season. While the cast and crew of The CW series are mum about the details of next season's new big bad, a recent report suggests that the mysterious creature may disguise itself as Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev).

As Buddy TV points out, the description for the creature named Sybil in "TVD" Season 8 is "a creature who is out to seduce Damon (Ian Somerhalder) into turning into something evil." The creature's influence on someone will depend on the amount of trust that the other person gives to it.

Most fans can recall that Damon entered the vault after hearing Elena's voice during "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 finale. No other character in the series holds so much influence over Damon than Elena so the description for Sybil kind of fits her role.

There are also speculations that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder will reunite in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. The former couple is expected to attend the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) 2016, wherein Dobrev is believed to announce her short return to the series.

Meanwhile, Mirror notes that Dobrev's return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 seems very likely to happen given the dip in the show's ratings after Season 6. Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham have also announced their departure from the show after Season 8.

Do you think Nina Dobrev will announce her return as the creature in the vault in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 panel at the SDCC? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
