Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are rumored to reunite for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 since the upcoming season is believed to be its series finale. An earlier interview with series creator Julie Plec revealed that the 27-year-old actress will be reprising her role in the series finale, according to TVLine.
"It's what she and I kind of agreed on when she decided to move on, and it's what I've got in my head," said Plec. "So I'm sticking with my side of the plan, which is to bring her back at the very end."
Since Dobrev's return on "TVD" Season 8 is already confirmed (that is if Season 8 is really the series finale), many fans are excitedly anticipating for Dobrev and Somerhalder's reunion on screen. Dobrev surprised everyone when she announced that she was leaving the show after Season 6; however, her character was only put to sleep, which shed some hope for "Delena" fans.
While "Delena" fans are thrilled to hear about Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev's return, the same could not be said of Somerhalder's wife, Nikki Reed. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Somerhalder and Reed are already facing a lot of issues in their marriage after these reunion rumors made rounds online.
Reed allegedly feels threatened over Dobrev and Somerhalder's reunion especially because of the relationship they previously shared. The publication also notes that Reed and Somerhalder have been fighting over their baby plans and a reunion with Dobrev on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 may only make things worse for them.
