Many are excited about the upcoming "Star Wars" standalone prequel film based on Han Solo and they are also wondering about who will play the lead role, which was originally played by Harrison Ford. It has just been announced that Alden Ehrenreich landed the spot of the iconic character.
E! News reported that Ehrenreich, a 26-year-old native of Los Angeles best known for his roles in "Blue Jasmine" and "Hail Caesar!," was confirmed to take on the role of Han Solo two months after reports first surfaced that he will be playing the part. The announcement was made at the Star Wars Celebration Europe event in London on Sunday.
Ehrenreich appeared on the event and was interviewed by John Boyega, 24, who has been casted last year on "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" as Finn. In "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Ford, who originally played the role of Han Solo, made an appearance for the same role.
