'iZombie' Season 3 has been scheduled to return on The CW for the midseason, but it has no specific air date as of yet. Now, a report is stating that the network is planning to match the series up with "Supernatural," its longest-running series. "iZombie" is also preparing for a zombie war in its newest season.
'iZombie' Season 3 On The Friday Slot With 'Supernatural'
The CW apparently wants to sustain a "Horror Night" and intends to put this special line-up on a Friday. When "The Vampire Diaries" exits in the upcoming season, the plan is to put "Supernatural" and "iZombie" together to sustain the timeslot. The network is also working on bringing back a "Constantine-led" series to air on this slot, according to Bleeding Cool.
The site further reports that this new schedule could take place in the 2017 TV schedule, hence the plan would be rolling out later than sooner. At the moment, "iZombie" has not been entered into The CW calendar just yet, per Coming Soon. However, the cast and crew of "iZombie" Season 3 will be back on the set to film new episodes beginning July 25.
'iZombie' Zombie War Looms
Meanwhile, Liv (Rose McIver) will have to deal with a potential new big bad, Vivian, when "iZombie" returns for Season 3. The character was introduced in the final moments of "iZombie" Season 2, where she actually saved Liv, Major and Clive, per E! Online.
However, Vivian has an ulterior motive and Liv isn't too quick to put her trust in her. When Vivian invited Liv to join her cause, the latter refused. In "iZombie" Season 3, Vivian will be at odds with Liv and there will be two zombie factions.
One zombie group intends to be the good zombies and, led by Liv, they are going to save others from becoming victims. Another zombie group, headed by Vivian, is going to come after non-zombies for food. Watch Rose McIver talk about what's happening on "iZombie" Season 3 in the video below:
