"Half Life" is a very popular game and until now many are still attached to the series that they keep on hoping for "Half Life 3." The third iteration of "Half Life" has been subject to different reports. Some claim that it won't be coming at all, while others keep on believing that it will. Here's the latest scoop we have about "Half Life 3"
'Half Life 3' Arriving In 2018 With Full VR Support
If you are a huge fan of "Half Life," you will probably be delighted with this report. According to Vine Report, Valve will likely release "Half Life 3" in 2018 to mark the franchise's 20 years.
Aside from making "Half Life 3" available to gamers, it will treat its fans with big surprises. The anticipated title is expected to get support for 4K Ultra HD resolution and virtual reality (VR).
'Half Life 3's' Future Is Still Uncertain
While some fans are being optimistic of a VR-supported "Half Life 3," not everyone shared the same enthusiasm about the game. Parent Herald previously reported that Gabe Newell is reluctant in pursuing the project.
"The only reason we'd go back and do like a super classic kind of product is if a whole bunch of people just internally at Valve said they wanted to do it and had a reasonable explanation for why," Newell said per the News Independent. "But you know if you want to do another Half-Life game and you want to ignore everything we've learned in shipping Portal 2 and in shipping all the updates on the multiplayer side that seems like a bad choice."
Parent Herald also reported that "Half Life 3" won't be coming anymore. Aside from Gabe Newell's lack of dedication to pushing "Half Life 3," Marc Laidlaw's resignation is another factor that makes the title's future bleak.
Between Newell and Laidlaw, the latter is more dedicated to the franchise and is more likely to push "Half Life 3." However, Laidlaw is already out of the picture, leaving "Half Life 3's" fate to Newell.
