Not a lot has been disclosed about the rumored "Sons of Anarchy" prequel TV series. Rumors have been rife that a prequel is underway, but reports have only confirmed the comic book focusing on Jax Teller's early life and not a new Kurt Sutter TV show.
Eyes are on Charlie Hunnam and his return should a "Sons of Anarchy" prequel for TV get green lit. As of writing, there has been no confirmation whether the actor is still up to reprise his role.
New reports claimed that the chances to see Hunnam in the "Sons of Anarchy" prequel could be slim to none. As Ecumenical News noted, the actor is busy with a slew of projects that include Guy Ritchie's "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword."
Meanwhile, previous "Sons of Anarchy" prequel rumors have been teasing that a popular A-list celeb will be playing the show's titular role. According to recent reports, Brad Pitt has been eyed to join the cast as John Teller, Jax Teller's father.
Pitt's character will be very crucial to the new show as it will reportedly focus on John Teller's early years. "At some point I do have plans to hopefully do the prequel, which I do see as a one-off 10- or 12-episode thing where we begin in Nam and see John Teller and Piney and see how that relationship got created, and bring them back to the States and the obvious external dynamics that were going on with the country and the perception of the war and what an odd kind of perception these vets got when they returned home," showrunner Kurt Sutter told Deadline.
Hunnam was reportedly excited to find out that Pitt will reportedly play his father in the prequel. "Did you read that about Brad Pitt maybe playing my dad?" Hunnam said in an interview with Men's Journal. "Brad Pitt as John Teller. How awesome would that be?"
