“Star Wars Episode VIII” director Rian Johnson confirms the wrap of the next Star Wars film to hit the big screen by next year. “Star Wars Episode VIII” is now moving forward with its post-production stage which includes editing and sound design.
Rian Johnson, the Director of “Star Wars Episode VIII,” officially announced that the upcoming film wrapped up on their shoot. It was then mentioned that the entire crew is moving forward with the post-production stage according to Moviefone.
"VIII is officially wrapped,"Rian Johnson wrote on Facebook. "Thanks to the best cast and crew in the galaxy, and thanks to the fans for all the love and support though the whole process. Cannot wait to put it together and share it with you all!"
It was then revealed that “Star Wars Episode VIII” will hit the big screen on December 15, 2017. Fans can expect on-going updates from the director himself as he post-production progress. The “Star Wars Episode VIII” started filming earlier this year, which would continue where “The Force Awakens” left off.
It was revealed that Rey, portrayed by Daisy Ridley, will start her Jedi Training with Luke Skywalker who is played by Mark Hamill. Fans are getting surprises as several revelations would surface when it comes to the eighth episode’s updates.
Earlier this month, Entertainment Weekly announced that Alden Ehrenreich will be portraying the character of the young Han Solo. Kathleen Kennedy, the Lucafilm president joined Rian Johnson and Han Solo along with Chris Miller and Phil Lord as they dished out a few details for “Star Wars Episode VIII.”
“It was an incredible experience on many different levels,” Rian Johnson,said. “You come into it with nostalgic feelings, but your job is to get beyond that very quickly. The ultimate responsibility is to sit in front of Mark [Hamill], sit in front of Luke Skywalker … and then get to know Mark as an actor and start working on a script and get back to the work of filmmaking.”
Rian Johnson's Star Wars Episode VIII is set to hit theaters on 12/15/17.
