Los Angeles Lakers is really stepping their game up as it has been reported that they are going after DeMarcus Cousins from Sacramento Kings for the upcoming NBA season.
Cousins has been part of many NBA trade rumors in the past but this one might be the most buzz-worthy as he also took to Twitter to answer that his favorite team growing up was the Los Angeles Lakers. Is DeMarcus Cousins Coming to Los Angeles Lakers?
After his tweet, fans are going crazy over the possibility that Cousins will be joining the Los Angeles Lakers. Several media reports did say that Sacramento Kings will not let their All-Star center move to another team but they are reportedly open to possible trades if Cousins will not be able to connect well with their new head coach, Dave Joerger, Sportsrageous reported.
Who Will Los Angeles Lakers Trade to Sacramento Kings?
Hannah Kulik of Lakers Nation said that if and when Cousins will actually be traded to Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings is asking the team to give up two players in place of Cousins.
Accordingly, Los Angeles Lakers will not be trading Brandon Ingram but they could trade D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, Larry Nance Jr., and Jordan Clarkson. However, the Los Angeles Lakers may not be willing to let go of their young players for Cousins unless they are sure that Russell Westbrook will be signing with them for the upcoming NBA season.
Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers Rumored to be Also Eyeing DeMarcus Cousins
Aside from the rumors that Cousins will be coming to the Los Angeles Lakers, reports have surfaced saying that Boston Celtics is also interested in acquiring him. Cleveland Cavaliers is also reportedly eyeing him and could offer a negotiation with the Sacramento Kings player.
Last season, Cousins averaged 26.9 points and 11.5 rebounds. Cousins has two years left on his contract but is unlikely to re-sign with Sacramento Kings.
