The search for the next James Bond after Daniel Craig is still on. While Tom Hiddleston used to be the frontrunner in the race for the next agent 007, rumors are rife that the actor has already lost his chance to be chosen because of his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Will "Outlander" star Sam Heughan be the next Bond?
"Outlander" star Sam Heughan is reportedly gaining popularity in the list of actors fans want to see as the new James Bond. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the frontrunner in the list used to be Tom Hiddleston but his romance with Taylor Swift has allegedly made a lot of fans lose interest in him as an actor.
Hiddleston's reputation has allegedly become affected after the "Avengers" and "Thor" actor was seen kissing the "Wildest Dreams" singer. Now, "Outlander" star Sam Heughan is being poised to play the next James Bond because of his booming popularity in the Starz time traveler series.
Heughan has recently landed a new ad campaign with the British brand Barbour. This further led to speculations that he may be chosen as the next Bond because of his good reputation and acting skills.
Before anyone gets ahead, though, Mirror notes on the possibility that there will not be a new James Bond actor at all. While Daniel Craig has already hinted that "Spectre" was going to be his last 007 movie, the publication states that producer Barbara Broccoli is still looking into convincing the actor into working for the 2018 James Bond movie.
"It will give her time to work out a script and try to convince Daniel to maybe return," an insider said.
