Ian Somerhalder, Nikki Reed Divorce: Nina Dobrev Return In ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Causes Marital Issues?

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed divorce rumors have been heating up online since "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 spoilers tease on the return of Nina Dobrev for the series finale. A recent report suggests that Somerhalder's wife is preventing the "Delena" reunion from happening because it causes marital issues between Reed and Somerhalder.

The highly anticipated Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder reunion in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 may not happen if Nikki Reed gets things done in her way. According to Inquisitr, Reed is preventing the reunion between her husband, Somerhalder and Dobrev because it may cause marital issues between the couple.

Earlier reports suggested that Reed felt insecure of Somerhalder and Dobrev's intimate scenes in "TVD," especially because these two became a couple before Somerhalder tied the knot with Reed. Even while Somerhalder was dating Reed, he and Dobrev would still film intimate scenes together, which has allegedly made Reed uncomfortable and threatened.

With news of Dobrev's return making rounds online following the confirmation that "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 is the series finale, Reed is allegedly doing whatever it takes to stop the "Delena" reunion from happening. Reed was even spotted attending The CW series' cast reunion and was seen traveling to Atlanta to join Somerhalder while he is filming for Season 8.

It still remains to be seen, however, whether or not Nina Dobrev will return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. According to Hollywood Life, the 27-year-old actress made a promise with series creator Julie Plec that she would return for the series finale of The CW drama.

"Not to put too much pressure on anything, Nina Dobrev, but a promise was made," she said. "An emotional promise that I'd like to see come to life."
