Despite the breakup reports, an insider revealed that Gabel and McPhee has an amicable breakup and assured fans that the ex-couple's working relationship in "Scorpion" season 3 will remain professional. In fact, CarterMatt noted that the exes, who've been dating for almost two years after being caught kissing on the set in 2014, have remained on good terms and in love with each other but "couldn't make things work."
"It's amicable and they remain friends..." an insider told Just Jared (via E! News). "They're still friends and work together almost every day. They still love each other but just couldn't make things work."
