Game of Thrones News: Season 8 Last? Spin Off Coming?

After producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss stated that there are only 13 remaining episodes for the series, fans have still been trying to search major Game of Thrones News in the past few days to see if there will be any change to the statement. However, recent pronouncements have nailed the coffin on that hope.

In the latest in Game of Thrones News, HBO's new chief for programming Casey Bloys has finally confirmed that Game of Thrones will be the last in the series, Entertainment Weekly reported. While Benioff and Weiss have stated this before, it is the first time someone from the prestige cable channel supported their claims. The reason it took a while before HBO confirmed the major Game of Thrones news must be because the network tried to convince the showrunners to extend the story but the producers insisted on doing the "best version of the story."

In other Game of Thrones News, Bloys has not ruled out the possibility of a spin-off for the massively popular series, Harper's Bazaar reported. "We've talked about it," Bloys said. "It's something I'm not opposed to, but of course it has to make sense creatively. I'm not sure that [Benioff and Weiss] could really wrap their heads around it when they're just about to start production [on season 7]." That, however, does not mean that there are already concrete plans for the spin-off should it happen.
