"Space Jam 3:" Anime Edition is already in the works and Ryan Higa gave his fans a glimpse of what his fans could look forward to. Instead of the usual Looney Tunes, it was revealed that the anime based cartoon will feature famous characters.
"Space Jam 3" anime spoof was done in partnership with Jeremy Lin from Brooklyn Nets and Ryan Hyga, who is a YouTuber. The storyline revolves around a group of good characters who, like the original story in "Space Jam" with Michael Jordan, fought against the team of villains.
Huffpost then revealed that Jeremy Lin falls into a hole, after retiring from his basketball career. He then meets the rest of the characters including Naruto (Ryan Higa), "Sailor Moon", "Dragon Ball's" Goku and Yugi from "Yu-Gi-Oh."
In "Space Jam 3," Lin and his team known as the Toon Squad, will have to go against Anime All Stars. Jeremy Lin would also be caught in several jokes because of his Asian-American roots. He will also be mocked for not being too popular unlike the previous "Space Jam" star, the Chicago Bulls', Michael Jordan.
"Space Jam 3" Anime Edition may be a perfect way to perk things up, but LeBron James' "Space Jam 2" still haven't given fans any update. The last update that was announced was few months back where it was revealed that LeBron James will be playing the role that Michael Jordan once played.
Hollywood Reporter then mentioned that the original director for "Space Jam" warned the makers not to move forward with the film.
"Don't do it. It's doomed. Michael Jordan was the biggest star on the planet," Joe Pytka stated. When we did 'Space Jam,' there was a perfect storm of players and ex-players available. There are none around like that now."
It was already announced that "Space Jam 2" is already in production, but it was not yet announced on when it would hit the screens. Jeremy Lin and Ryan Higa's "Space Jam 3," as they call it, is not a sequel to the Warner Bro. movie. The NBA player and the YouTube star created "Space Jam 3" just for fun. Watch and enjoy it!
