"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 spoilers reveal that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev will reunite for the series finale of The CW drama. Series creator Julie Plec recently revealed at the San Diego Comic Con 2016 that Dobrev promised her to return for the final season.
While Plec has not necessarily confirmed that Dobrev will be back in "TVD" Season 8, several fans began speculating on her character next season. As most fans can recall, Damon was lured into the vault after hearing Elena's voice.
This led to speculations that Dobrev will not return as Elena Gilbert in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8; instead, she will play the role of a villain. As if the fans' speculations were right, Kat Graham recently told E! News that fans should look forward to the female villain next season.
"The villain, as of right now, is this amazing female badass," she said. "It's going to be good."
Celeb Dirty Laundry also notes that Somerhalder, in particular, is not very pleased to hear that his ex-girlfriend, Dobrev, is returning in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. According to the publication, Somerhalder joked during the 2016 SDCC that Dobrev's chances of return are "18.75%."
There have been rumors that Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are fighting over Nina Dobrev's return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. However, both parties have already clarified these rumors and said that there is no bad blood between them.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 premieres on Oct. 21 on The CW.
