DAYS is bringing back one of the evil guys in Salem. James Read has revealed on Twitter that his character Clyde Weston is coming back really soon. What trouble could he bring this time? Meanwhile, Matthew Ashford is returning to "Days of Our Lives" this week.
After thanking his fans for all the birthday wishes he received, James Read has a gift to his fans too. "Be on the lookout - Clyde rides again in early Sept," he wrote on Twitter. The last time Clyde was seen in Salem was on October 20, 2015, after his son Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) turned out to be the Necktie Killer.
News that James Read is coming back first came out in April. Brandon Beemer posted a photo of himself with Eric Martsolf, which captured a monitor in the background airing a future episode with James Read on it, Soaps.com reported. The 63-year-old actor is known for his roles in "A Lot Like Love" (2005), "Wildfire" (2005-2008), and "Beaches" (1988).
Meanwhile, Matthew Ashford will be back as Jack Deveraux on Friday, Aug. 5. DAYS spoilers via Celeb Dirty Laundry tease that Jack will appear in Jennifer's (Melissa Reeves) fantasy as she tries to deal with the news that her daughter, Abigail (Kate Mansi), is dead. Jennifer will have a hard time accepting her loss, and hopefully, Jack could give her some comfort. Chad (Billy Flynn), who has been holding on to whatever hope he can cling to, will be equally shattered upon hearing the news. JJ (Casey Moss) will blame Chad because he's the reason Abby was in Shady Hills.
"Days of Our Lives" airs Mondays to Fridays on NBC at 1 p.m. It will be on a two-week break beginning Aug. 8 as the network covers the 2016 Summer Olympics. Regular airing resumes on Aug. 22.
