'Batman' News Update: Telltale Games Series Delivers ‘Best Bruce Wayne Story?’

Telltale Games reportedly delivers with its new "Batman" series the best Bruce Wayne story yet. The "Batman" series reportedly gives an intriguing peek into the psych of the DC superhero.

Telltale Games have carved a unique position for themselves amongst video game developers. As custodians of the point-and-click adventure genre after LucasArts (from whom a number of employees joined) Telltale Games have gone from strength to strength over the last ten years.

Telltale Games have consistently taken licensed adventure games to impressive story taking levels by driving the franchises in unorthodox - yet very compelling - directions. "Back To The Future," "Game Of Thrones," "The Wolf Among Us" and of course "The Walking Dead" wowed players with masterful storytelling and tight characterisations.

Telltale Games' latest series is based on the ever popular creation of Bob Kane, Batman. Telltale Games' take on the Caped Crusader has been kicked off recently with the release of the first episode "Batman: Realm of Shadows."

Interestingly, "Batman: Realm of Shadows" enjoyed a good reception. Reviews on MetaCritic of "Batman: Realm of Shadows" indicate another Telltale Games winner.

Stylistically Telltale Games have gone after the comic book look with graphics rendered to appear as a dynamic "Batman" graphic novel. While Ben Affleck is continuing to prove to be a popular choice for Batman on the silver screen (despite the rather lukewarm current state of the DC cinematic universe), "The Last of Us" actor Troy Baker supplies the vocal characterisation of Bruce Wayne.

Reviews on the "Batman: Realm of Shadows" story so far appear to be positive. According to Crave Online, Telltale Games' Batman appears to be "the Best Bruce Wayne story yet."

Telltale Games seem to instinctively know what makes their stories resonate. As with "Batman: Realm of Shadows" characterisation can be found at the heart of these.

"Batman: Realm of Shadows Episode 1" is currently available on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Almost going completely in the opposite direction of the big budget Hollywood DC spectacle with thin characterizations and motivations, gamers and DC fans alike have a lot to look forward to with Telltale Games' "Batman: Realm of Shadows."
