To celebrate the upcoming 20 years of "A Song of Ice and Fire" saga, George R.R. Martin recently revealed the release of his new book this coming October. Fans are eagerly awaiting for "The Winds of Winter" to finally conclude the sixth novel and see how the story coincide with the "Game of Thrones" from HBO.
Reports, however, revealed that the announcement made by George R.R. Martin is not about "The Winds of Winter" release which created more disappointing fans. It was just a couple of years when the "Game of Thrones" first came and was closely following the books.
Six Season of "Game of Thrones" later and fans were assuming that "The Winds of Winter" would soon be released to follow the storyline of "GoT," but no "TWoW" came. Instead, George R.R. Martin continually announce the delay of the most anticipated novel of all time.
"The Winds of Winter" is also going the rounds again after HBO finally revealed that "Game of Thrones" will end after eight seasons and that would be in 2018. All the while, the faith of "TWoW" is still uncertain.
According to Newsweek, they reached Martin and his publisher at Random House in the U.S. and his editor at HarperCollins' Voyager division in the U.K. for any updates regarding the development of "The Winds of Winter." According to them, George R.R. Martin has already missed the proposed December 2015 deadline and now "TWoW" has an open-ended date.
"I'm like Jon Snow: I know nothing! All I do know is that George is working very hard," Johnson, editor at HarperCollins' Voyager said. "And as soon as we possibly can after he delivers, we'll publish the book."
The editor also defended Martin for the delay as a lot of fans are getting tired of waiting. She credited George R.R. Martin for the devotion he made in creating "The Winds of Winter and that the series is really a huge undertaking for any writer.
And while fans still wait a bit more for the indefinite release date of "The Winds of Winter," George R.R. Martin gives fans "A Game of Thrones: The Illustrated Edition" that will be released on Oct. 18, 2016. The new book will have plenty of never-before-seen astounding artwork that will make fans eagerly wait for "TWoW" even more.
