'Pokemon GO' Latest News & Update: Alternative Tracking Apps To Pokevision Available Now And Where To Find Them

Niantic got a lot on their hands these days after the shutdown of "Pokemon GO's" Pokevision. A lot of players was left to wonder in the dark and was asking "Pokemon GO" developers to bring back their third-party tracking apps.

The popular Pokevision together with third-party tracking apps were shut down by Niantic to free a large amount of resources for "Pokemon GO." As explained on the official "Pokemon GO" website, Pokevision and the other third-party apps needed to go.

"We wanted to shed some more light on why we did this and why these seemingly innocuous sites and apps actually hurt our ability to deliver the game to new and existing player," as read on its "Pokemon GO" website. Gamespot also revealed that other issues regarding cheating have also been being removed by Niantic which further angered players.

Now, players of "Pokemon Go" are in a hurry to find an alternative to Pokevision. Pokevision is a Pokemon locator that uses the Niantic API and allows them to display the Pokemon on the map. With this tool, "Pokemon Go" players will find it easier to search for Pokemon locations.

However, this third-party app makes it easy to find Pokemon although according to Pokevision creator Yang Liu, that his third-party app is not created to cheat but to provide temporary relief to the in-game tracker that was not working at the first-week launch of "Pokemon GO."

John Hanke, on the other hand, felt that most third-party mapping apps are ruining the game and even taking up space on their servers, which led to directly for players who uses Pokevision to lose its sight on Saturday.

While players of "Pokemon GO" wait for Niantic to find or create a better alternative for Pokevision, players of the game are disappointed as they now feel the need for Pokevision to come back. Niantic promised that its "Pokemon GO" tracking system will remain which could help players find more Pokemon.

For those who are searching for an alternative to Pokevision, new apps have already sprouted on iTunes and Android Play. One locator map that "Pokemon Go" players can look into is Poke Maps Pro that can help players find rare Pokemon, gyms and pokestops near a player's area.
