NBA Trade Rumors: New York Knicks Eyeing Rudy Gay To Upgrade Bench

Sacramento Kings small forward Rudy Gay is one of the most popular players during this off season's NBA trade rumors. Reports have it that Gay will be wearing another jersey in the upcoming NBA season. Sources claim that New York Knicks wants Gay on their roster to upgrade their bench.

According to Yibada, Knicks is preparing a trade package to acquire Kings forward Rudy Gay. New York Knicks want to upgrade its second unit in the new NBA season.

CBS Sports ranked all the 30 NBA benches and currently, New York Knicks is in the ninth spot. Projected bench includes Brandon Jennings, Justin Holiday, Lance Thomas, Kyle O'Quinn and Willy Hernangomez. This might change if Rudy Gay joins Knicks' bench.

In a separate report from Parent Herald, Sacramento Kings is not trading Rudy Gay but the player could be joining the free agency after the 2016-17 season. Chances are high that Gay will soon be parting ways with the Kings.

The report stressed that Rudy Gay is vocal in his discontentment with Sacramento Kings' direction. Gay wants stability and his current team does not provide this. In fact, he cited LA Clippers Paul Pierce and Jamal Crawford's position as something that he wants for his career.

Rumors have it that several NBA teams are interested in signing Rudy Gay. Parent Herald previously reported that Gay could be heading to Indiana Pacers or San Antonio Spurs. At the time, Spurs' resources are limited that getting Gray will be a smart choice for the team.
