"Kingdom Hearts 3" release date hopefuls are dying to get their hands on the new title. However, new reports are suggesting that the third installment will also allow first time players to get the hang of the game easily.
Previous "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date rumors already teased that the new title will be "overwhelmingly big." Series creator and director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed the rumors and dished on some juicy details about the new title.
According to a Gamenesia report, Tetsuya claimed that fans who have been hoping to get a glimpse of "Kingdom Hearts 3" have already seen it. He claimed that "Kingdom Hearts 3D" and the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts 0.2" serves as a prologue to the highly anticipated third installment.
"Story-wise, [Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep-A Fragmentary Passage] is situated at rather an important point," he shared. "The scenarios of KH 3D Dream Drop Distance (hereon KH3D) and KH0.2 can essentially be thought of as the prologue to KH3. In my own head, KH3 begins at KH3D. That's why I put that subtitle on KH2.8."
In a previous interview, co-director Tai Yasue shared that "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" also has a big relevance on "Kingdom Hearts 3." He claimed that in order to understand the events of the highly anticipated sequel, playing KH 2.8 could actually be a good head start.
"And I think from Kingdom Hearts 2.8, as the numbering suggests, it's really necessary before you play Kingdom Hearts 3. 0.2, with you playing with Aqua, who is trapped inside the Dark World, that connects to Birth by Sleep," Yasue told GameSpot. "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" is slated for a December 2016 launch, while "Kingdom Hearts 3" is rumored to be slated for a 2017 release date for PS4 and Xbox One.
