While fans continue to await more details about "The Last of Us 2" release date, new reports are suggesting that the highly anticipated sequel could be further delayed. It has been rumored that creative director Neil Druckmann is working on a new game, and it's not TLOU 2.
According to SegmentNext, Druckmann and his team are working on a new time-jump game. It was previously noted that after works done on "Uncharted 4," "The Last of Us 2" release date would be their next priority. However, as the new reports surfaced about the new game, fans begin to wonder whether the wait for the sequel could be longer than expected.
As the site reported, the new game will involve characters going back to the past to alter events. The "Last of Us 2" creative director has yet to disclose any specifics about the new game.
When asked about "The Last of Us 2" release date, Druckmann was very open to say that they are not yet prioritizing its development as of writing. "Our next focus is the single player [Uncharted 4] DLC and then, once we have enough resources, resurrect all those prototypes; see where we're at, see where the teams at, what they're excited for and go from there," he said as reported by Movie Pilot.
Meanwhile, fans are also excited to know more about the rumored "The Last of Us" movie. Previous reports have claimed that the "TLoU" movie could come first before the highly anticipated "The Last of Us 2" release date.
