"GTA 6" by Rockstar, which has been widely reported to espouse massive changes to the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise with a London map and Eva Mendes as the first female protagonist, may find a savior in "Red Dead Redemption." At the moment the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise continues to rake in sales with "GTA 5" and its "GTA Online" offering.
Needless to say, concerns of franchise fatigue for "Grand Theft Auto" is a cloud that casts a shadow on a "GTA 6" release. As well-crafted as "Grand Theft Auto" iterations are, "GTA 5" and "GTA Online" are each still too popular for a "GTA 6" release to follow so soon.
Parent Herald cites Trusted Reviews in reporting that eyes are on Gamescom 2016 now to see if the Rockstar project at which parent company Take-Two Interactive hinted would indeed be "GTA 6." Doubtless, fans would celebrate the highly-awaited reveal on "GTA 6."
However, Trusted Reviews also pointed out that Rockstar may unveil "Red Dead Redemption" rather than "GTA 6." Similar to "GTA 6," Rockstar enjoys a massive fan base with "Red Dead Redemption."
Even more than "GTA 6," "Red Dead Redemption" has been a long time coming. A Gamescom 2016 announcement by Rockstar on "Red Dead Redemption" would indeed be manna from heaven, so to speak, and would be a savior of sorts for "GTA 6" and the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise.
At the moment, "GTA 6" has had some heavy speculations going, including the largest map that the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise has ever seen. "Grand Theft Auto" fans are also waiting to see if the "right fit" that Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser mentioned in the past for introducing a female lead is indeed "GTA 6."
If "GTA 6" instead of "Red Dead Redemption" is announced at Gamescom 2016, projections peg the new "Grand Theft Auto" to be available by 2018 at the earliest and 2020 at the latest. Are you partial to "GTA 6" or "Red Dead Redemption" for the Gamescom 2016 announcements?
